Jörg Mangold

Jörg Mangold is a specialist in child and adolescent psychiatry, a medical psychotherapist, a mindfulness teacher and an author, who leads seminars across Europe. He draws on more than 40 years of professional experience. In 2020 he handed over his practice. Since then he has concentrated on courses, seminars and psychotherapy, along with individual sessions in mindfulness-based coaching and counselling for personal growth. He particularly addresses people in helping professions, therapists and colleagues in healthcare.

His courses on mindfulness and self-compassion are open to anyone, need no prior experience, are independent of any worldview, and are not therapy. He also offers in-house seminars on health care, burnout prevention and empathy exhaustion.

Mangold trained as a teacher in MBSR, MBCT and Mindful Self-Compassion, and is a Certified Teacher through the UCSD Center for Mindfulness. His further training includes Self-Compassion for Healthcare Communities, Mindfulness-Based Compassionate Living, Mindful Parenting, and MYmind, a mindfulness training for young people with ADHD or autism spectrum conditions. He also completed professional training in Positive Neuroplasticity with Rick Hanson, advanced skills in Compassion-Focused Therapy with Chris Irons and Paul Gilbert, and is a master trainer in positive psychology, EUPPA-certified.

He has developed his own course formats, among them Mindful Compassionate Parenting (MCP) and Mindful Compassionate Education (MCE), which adapts MCP for professionals working with children and young people. He is a trainer and MCP teacher trainer with Arbor Seminare, and works internationally with WEMIND e.V. on "MCP goes Europe".
