Gaia Hospedagem — Brotas - SP, Brazil
A holistic guesthouse and retreat space in the forest of Brotas, São Paulo
The path begins barefoot. On the meditative trail at Gaia, in Brotas, guests enter the forest without shoes, working through the five senses one at a time. The practice is called Banho de Floresta, forest bathing. It closes with native shamanic drums, played to reconnect with what the house calls the heart of Mother Gaia.
The guesthouse describes its beginnings as a movement of spirituality joined to a dream of serving and helping others. In its own words, it was born from the impulse toward healing, spiritual elevation, welcome, expanded consciousness and self-knowledge. Its refrain is four verbs: sentir, amar, ser, estar (to feel, to love, to be, to be present).
The stay is organized around meditation and silence, light and healthy food, and integrative and holistic therapies. Accommodation is in chalets. The grounds have a pool, parking, massage, breakfast and wifi, and a therapeutic pyramid. The Hospedagem Terapêutica is a program of healing and self-knowledge designed so that every moment of a stay goes toward the guest's own care, with an emphasis on reducing stress and anxiety. Therapies are offered in person and online, and the programming also includes dance therapy and phototherapy.
Groups have a room of their own. The Templo is a veranda hall overlooking the garden. It seats about 80 people, with chairs, sound, ten tables of six, bathrooms, fans and an industrial kitchen. Events can be booked with or without buffet. Gaia also hosts retreats, including a shamanic New Year gathering, the Virada Xamânica Alma Solar, listed for 2026/2027.
